What is the meaning of jasmine?
It's a Middle Eastern name, specifically from Persia. You probably already know that it means what it is; a beautiful white flower that smells lovely.

Often, people think of a 'Jasmine' having sort of a sophisticated but stuck-up attitude, and usually she's thought of as being a bit exotic. Or, it goes the other way and she's thought of as a trailer-trash ho, since the name suddenly became really popular not too long ago (probably when Aladdin was released.)

If you're interested on peoples' impressions of the name, you can look it up and post polls on the site I linked in the sources.
Reply:Don't know about lucky numbers or personality, but I've found Jasmine (or Yasmin, Yasmina, Yasmine, Yasmeen, Yasmena) listed as a Persian name.

Persia is a geographic region roughly corresponding to Iran, but the Persian ethnicity, language, and culture extends into some regions of India, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan. Iran was called Persia until 1935. (from the Character Naming Sourcebook by Sherrilyn Kenyon)
