We are expecting twins. We are thinking of Zachary Alfie - boy and Jasmine Alyssa - girl. Anything better?

Think of all the things this can and will be shortened to. Do you want people singing about "alfie" to you son? Obviously we don't know the last name so you need to say the whole name out loud several times. Does it cause you to trip over your tongue? Are you going to be forever correcting people when they spell the names? Do you care? Will the child care?

How does it all sound together? Do the initials spell anything that could be embarrassing or annoying -- not just to you but to your child? For example, if you last name begins with "P" that would make initials ZAP and JAP. Is this what your child is going to want put on everything?

When you yell the name... is it going to run together so that it sounds completely different? Do the words work together or is it odd rhythm?

Just don't name them the same as everyone else. One of my kid's classes has 3 kids with one name and another 3 kids with another same first name. It's irritating to them and those dealing with them.

Go to www.makewayforbaby.com and look at baby names. They have a huge database of names and their meanings, along with vairiation spelling.
Reply:Alfie is a nickname...like mikey or chucky...use the long name for official documentation and use Alfie in conversation.

Proper names for Alfie include Alfred and Alfonso amongst others.

You have to think ahead when he may be in business or the law or medicine...could you take a doctor seriously who had a name alfie???? I couldn't. Could you see his Drill Seargent calling out "Smith, Zachary Alfie!" The whole platoon would die laughing...give the kid a break!
Reply:I named my son Zack Andre so it sound like Zachary but it's a little different. I love Jasmine and Alyssa but they really don't go together.
Reply:Hi I am also expecting twins 1m 35 weeks At the start i loved the names jasmine and lily for girls, then found out i was having boy/girl twins. i have found picking a boys name alot harder then a girls. Have a look through some that yahooers sugested through my questions. but i think your names are nice and zachary will more than likely just be Zac eventually. my sisters little boy is zachary phillip and she is the only one that calls him zachary everyone calls him zac. he is a little terror so i call him Zac Attack. best of luck with your twins.
Reply:I like everything except for the Alfie part. Maybe substitute Nathanial I think Zachary Nathanial has a nice ring to it.
Reply:my boss at work as twin boys Conner and Bailey. he also has a daughter Riley. I think those are all nice names
Reply:Is Alfie a family name? Zachary Alfred sounds better , Jasmine Alyssa is pretty, I do agree that it depends how both names sound with your last name but the most important thing is that you like the names, everyone on here has such different opinions, it is very hard for random people who do not know you to help with such an important decision. Pick whatever two names the two of you both love (which is hard enough to find if you are anything like my husband and i) and just go with those. Remember, you will love whatever names you pick once those babies are born because they will be the names of the two people you love most.

Good luck and congratulations on the twins
Reply:I like both names but you should spell Jasmine without the "E" so it would look like this Jasmin.
Reply:I like Jasmin Alyssa...I don't like "Alfie"

Maybe Zachery Aidan?
