How to get rid of black bugs on star jasmine?

Are the black bugs perhaps aphids? Here is a link for a picture of black aphids: http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup....

Aphids feed on the sap of leaves and young new growth. They also known as plant lice and can be green, yellow, brown, purple, red and black in color.

You can take an infested leaf to your local garden center or cooperative extension for proper identification. You do want to do this to be sure you are treating the right insect with the right product.

There are many solutions available for treating aphids. You can try Safer's Aphid and Whitefly Spray or Safer's Insecticidal Soap as they are natural products. They do work well and are easy to apply as they come in a spray bottle.

Hope this helps some. Best of luck. :)
