How do I keep jasmine from freezing in NW Washington?

It's growing in a big pot now - I brought it into my screened room but don't know if that's going to do the job. Also, do I cut it back? It's about 5' tall and the leaves are starting to turn....

Bring it all the way inside. Jasmine propagates very easily, if you can't bring it inside start some new plants inside with cuttings. Cut 4 inch semi hardwood, remove most of the lower leaves, dust the end with rooting hormone, insert into soilless rooting mixture. If possible the low branches on jasmine can be "pinned" to the soil and they will root naturally and then just cut free from the rest of the plant and re-pot.
Reply:Ihave a Jasmine in one of my flower beds. I cut it back in the spring. I would keep it on the covered porch and when all the leaves seal in a large plastic trash and tie the top.
Reply:Jasmine, and espcially Jasmine or Arabia are meant to grow in hot dry climate. If you can reproduce that climate all the best, otherwise the plants will die.

Wonderfull scent though. Do you you know you can take out the psitil, squeeze the drop of nectar and eat it? it is a wonderful treat.
