Think of all the things this can and will be shortened to. Do you want people singing about "alfie" to you son? Obviously we don't know the last name so you need to say the whole name out loud several times. Does it cause you to trip over your tongue? Are you going to be forever correcting people when they spell the names? Do you care? Will the child care?





How does it all sound together? Do the initials spell anything that could be embarrassing or annoying -- not just to you but to your child? For example, if you last name begins with "P" that would make initials ZAP and JAP. Is this what your child is going to want put on everything?





When you yell the name... is it going to run together so that it sounds completely different? Do the words work together or is it odd rhythm?





Just don't name them the same as everyone else. One of my kid's classes has 3 kids with one name and another 3 kids with another same first name. It's irritating to them and those dealing with them.

Proper names for Alfie include Alfred and Alfonso amongst others.





You have to think ahead when he may be in business or the law or medicine...could you take a doctor seriously who had a name alfie???? I couldn't. Could you see his Drill Seargent calling out "Smith, Zachary Alfie!" The whole platoon would die laughing...give the kid a break!

Zachary Alfred sounds better , Jasmine Alyssa is pretty, I do agree that it depends how both names sound with your last name but the most important thing is that you like the names, everyone on here has such different opinions, it is very hard for random people who do not know you to help with such an important decision. Pick whatever two names the two of you both love (which is hard enough to find if you are anything like my husband and i) and just go with those. Remember, you will love whatever names you pick once those babies are born because they will be the names of the two people you love most.

okay, well i did some research, and this is what I found out.





Janessa Teed and Casey Fink had a daughter at Mercy Medical center in Iowa sometime in december of 2005 (before the 10th). at that time they lived in indianola iowa. i called information to see if they had a listing for either janessa or casey in indianola, and there was nothing.


Aslo according to the des moines polk county births, there was a son born may 21, 2001 to a janessa teed and casey fink


and a son born to janessa teed and casey fink on may 02, 2003. i didn't find out where they were living at the times of those births.

Use DR strings my friend. I started using them on all my guitars, electric and acoustic. They are a great sounding string for acoustic, sure bright and they have a good life to them as well. They tend to be a little more expensive but they are well worth the money.

I have several growing up trellises, over my patio cover and in hanging baskets. The only time I really do any pruning is when vines die because most of the time I can re-direct their vines to where I want them to be. I use regular old Miracle Grow or Preen fertilizer on them, water them when their soil looks dry and largely ignore them until they are in bloom. They do make a bit of a mess after they bloom and they drop, but other than sweeping up after them, they really need little care.

I don't know that model particularly, but I can tell you that Takamine does a nice job generally. The key to any beginner acoustic guitar is the "action"---just a word to describe the height of the strings off of the neck/frets. You want it to be as low as possible---for comfort---without buzzing. You can worry about the wood and the scale and all of that other stuff when you get beyond the beginner stage.





For a first guitar, if it hurts you to play it, ie the action is too high, you won't and that will be the end of it. So, go to a music store, and try your Takamine and some other lower priced axes, and see which one feels the best. That's the one to buy, for the time being.
Reply:Like most taks, the jasmine is a reasonably good inexpensive guitar. I don't like acoustic guitars that have their electronics built in, but what are you going to do, almost all of them do that now.





There are, I believe, better deals out there than the Jasmine, even among takemines.

I love those names! Sienna and India... so pretty, and I love that you have a flower and a virute as middle names. That is such a sweet, innocent word for her to carry around for ever. Remember, a name is the best and most important birthday gift you ever give your child. You have chose well.

I like Sienna better with an S than a C, because of three reasons: a. it is the same name either way and S is what most people will write, so it will save on mistakes. b. Sienna with an S is a place name (Siena) in Italy. Then both girls have place name names. c. I think that the letter S is prettier that the letter C... but that's just my opinion. Imagine her initials: SG is prettier in cursive than CG.

Sienna and India are similar but different enough that each girl will have a unique name and not feel smushed together. You chose well, I think because they are a pair, but not the SAME.

ROOTING CUTTINGS IN FIVE EASY STEPS


Take a cutting from a branch of the hydrangea shrub about 5-6" long. Most experts say the cutting will work best if taken from a branch that did not flower this year.








Remove the lower leaves of the bottom two leaf nodes.(see pictures #3 and #4)








Cut largest leaves down to about half their size








Dip cuttings in rooting hormone (this is entirely optional) and insert into damp vermiculite or sterile medium. (See suggestion in NOTE below)








Water pot well and allow to drain. Make sure soil is moist but not soggy. Cover cuttings and pot with plastic. Try to keep plastic from touching leaves by adding stakes











Confederate (Star) Jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides, is normally propagated from cuttings. Softwood cuttings from partially mature wood taken in the summer or hardwood cuttings taken anytime. Rooting chemicals, bottom heat and mist are most helpful. Confederate Jasmine is not reliably hardy below about 20 degrees F and is subject to freeze damage at slightly higher temperatures so I would be cautious of such an extensive planting.

Division is the easiest way to propagate them, a sure fire method of plants like that. Hydrangea, like Japanese Kerria, Sweet Bubby is commonly found to sucker. Wait a year or so and dig 'em up, separate and pot. After it has adjusted and growing nicely you plant or give away or even SELL for profit at yard sale.





You'll find Hydrange layers easily, the old fashioned way of rooting plants. Take a low branch, score the undersize and put a little Rootone on it, bury it lightly and put a rock on it to conserve moisture. Takes six months to a year but it virtually always takes, then dig up, separate, pot and voila another one.





Softwood cuttings under mist in pure river sand lightened with Vermiculite [and sometimes some peat moss] of either plant can easily result in making a hundred or more babies. It's a skill that takes practice and different plants require subltle changes in media and light and watering.





Purification of media by baking in an oven or the like is a must. Most cutting failures are due to fungal attacks or overwatering which just causes rot. The medium must be constantly MOIST but not WET. Bottom heat helps and misting gives a constant and controllable source of moisture.





In this way if stems are dipped into LIQUID Rootone which is much better than the powdered crap, you can get rooting in as little as two to three weeks.

These are aphids, and they will kill your plants in short order. You need to get an insecticide that targets these pests. Another way is to round up some cigarette butts and soak them in water. The resulting liquid smells real bad but will kill the aphids in short order. You can pour the stuff in a spray bottle.

Remember me? I had my cat spayed and she was bleeding and crying in pain...I left her alone that night, called the emergency vet, the next morning, and they said to force water down her the best I could and to give her a day or two to heal, if not better by Saturday, they wanted to see her...I'm happy to say that she is up and running around again. She is eating and drinking and almost back to her normal self. Thanks to everyone who gave advise.

i didnt respond to your question last time but i will say congratulations on getting your cat spayed.. it doesnt seem to be the normal thing to do on this site.. however it is the RESPONSIBLE thing to do. .when i got my female spayed 6 years ago.. her incision swelled up and split open due to an allergy to the sutures they used... she was given antibiotics to avoid infection and broke out in hives.. first time i ever saw acat with hives. .so they put her on a nother anitbiotic.. which healed the incision.. and she was fine. had some scar tissue for a while but she was okay......
