If Jasmine white rice has a higher glycemic index than Glucose tablets, why can't you use it to treat lows?

^When you are low you need to raise your glucose as quick as possible, glucose tablets will do that, rice takes longer. You need glucose (sugar) not just any carb. If you don't want to take glucose tablets, you can drink a glass of milk, juice, regular soda, a tablespoon of honey or jelly to name a few.

not portable. What do you do go jogging/biking/walking/have sex, etc with a big ol pot of rice?
Reply:Huh, that's interesting, never would have guessed that. But I would assume that glucose tabs are formulated to be fast acting, whereas the Jamine rice may cause a slower rise, and if you're having a crisis with low blood sugar, time is of the essense.
Reply:Glucose tablets dissolve quickly, so if the person taking them loses consciousness, they have less chance of choking.
